Jumbo frets vs Thin frets

You have too many options in the market today for the type of frets you want on your guitar. But it is always wise to know about the choices and their benefits before choosing them. Frets range from thin to medium to jumbo to extra jumbo. But which should you buy? Every type has its own pros and cons.

Bending is much easier on jumbos as compared to thin frets. Jumbo frets lat much longer than thinner frets. It is easier to play with thick gauge strings on a guitar having jumbo frets. But they are costlier. One major thing that should be known to everyone is that, when jumbo frets start to wear out with time, they destroy the intonation (if you don't know what is this check it out here at http://thatsthenote.blogspot.com/2014/11/guitar-intonation.html ) of your guitar.Thin frets have good intonation and its easier to fret chords on them. But the notes sustain for a lesser time as compared to jumbo frets. \

Concluding up, I would finally say that, for an easier playability,go for jumbo frets or extra jumbos. But for a precise and accurate tone, go with thinner frets. If you want both of them, choose your way all along to medium frets which will give you a satisfactory tone and playability.
